We have got 10 hectares of land opposite our Pfunda Tea partner's factory and work has started on securing a fence line and building the chicken coops. This will be a sound investment as over 70% of current eggs sold in the area are imported from Uganda, so a local and sustainable supply of eggs is vital. Working with the Point Foundation, up to 1500 chickens will be bought by the end of March.
The President of the Association Jean De Dieu Ntirenganya said "Without the investment and support from Hallmark Vending and the Point Foundation, we wouldn't be in a position to start work.
